students for a career in health care as competent, multiskilled practitioners. This training prepares students for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certificate supported by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Program Objectives
- Understand health care systems, medical law, and ethics to provide effective patient care
- Develop administrative assisting and communication skills to support health care professionals and provide high-quality patient care
- Apply patient care coordination, education, and general patient care techniques to meet the needs of patients with diverse medical conditions
- Utilize testing, laboratory procedures, and knowledge of pathophysiology and disease processes to diagnose and treat patients
- Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases
- Master phlebotomy, basic pharmacology, EKG, and cardiovascular testing procedures to administer medications, collect blood samples, and diagnose and monitor cardiovascular diseases
