Program Overview

Being a nurse is more than a job, it’s a calling. That is why SSM Health, we are invested in your future. As a graduate nurse with SSM Health, you will be enrolled into the SSM Health Nurse Residency Program. This will allow you to connect and learn from other graduate nurses across the system as you work to enhance your confidence, knowledge, and practical skills. The Nurse Residency Program at SSM Health consists of monthly classes held during your first year of practice and is supported by our robust team of Nurse Residency Specialists.

Program Objectives


The comprehensive curriculum – designed to enrich and complement the nurses’ education provides a robust infrastructure through a 12-month educational pathway. The Nurse Residency Program is supported and delivered by our team of Nurse Residency Specialists. The program is delivered through regular virtual and in-person sessions, offered on a recurring basis. 

Program Eligibility
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Eligible to practice as determined by the State Board of Nursing
  • Less than one year of clinical experience in nursing

Program Length
  • You will begin within eight weeks from your start date
