Clinical Ladder Program
Program Overview 

At SSM Health, we believe our work is more than a career, it’s a calling. The SSM Health Clinical Ladder Program is an optional 12-month growth and development opportunity designed to support professional growth and recognition of eligible SSM Health clinicians in acute, ambulatory and post-acute settings. Eligible clinicians within imaging, lab, nursing, pharmacy, and respiratory departments can receive an achievement bonus and professional development reimbursement for completing Clinical Ladder Program milestones. 

Program Objectives


  • To provide reward and recognition for career advancement and professional development.
  • To be nationally recognized as the ministry where people can reach their greatest potential and fulfill their calling to serve others.
  • To live the tenets of the SSM Health Professional Practice Model, described by the five “I Am” statements.

Program Eligibility 

 
  • Employed for a minimum of one year 
  • Works in a direct clinical care position at the time of application 
  • Classified in a full-time or part-time position (minimum 0.5 FTE)
  • In good standing, defined as not on level 2, 3, or 4 of corrective action at the time of application throughout the receipt of awards 
  • Not in a titled leadership position including director, manager, supervisor or lead, contingent position, PRN or a hired student role
  • Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement are not eligible for this program unless provided for in their collective bargaining agreement or a side agreement

  • Successfully complete the number of points and variety of activities required for the level of the Clinical Ladder they are pursuing
