Clinical Ladder Program

Program Overview

At SSM Health, we believe our work is more than a career, it’s a calling. The SSM Health Clinical Ladder Program is an optional 12-month growth and development opportunity designed to support professional growth and recognition of eligible SSM Health clinicians in acute, ambulatory and post-acute settings. Eligible clinicians within imaging, lab, nursing, pharmacy, and respiratory departments can receive an achievement bonus and professional development reimbursement for completing Clinical Ladder Program milestones.

Program Objectives

To provide reward and recognition for career advancement and professional development.
To be nationally recognized as the ministry where people can reach their greatest potential and fulfill their calling to serve others.
To live the tenets of the SSM Health Professional Practice Model, described by the five “I Am” statements.

Program Eligibility

Employed for a minimum of 6 months
Works in a frontline position directly with patients, or a clinician managing a team that works directly with patients at the time of application
Classified in a full-time, part-time, or Internal Travel Program position (minimum 40 hours per pay period)
In good standing, defined as not on level 2, 3 or 4 of corrective action at the time of application throughout the receipt of awards
Not a director, contingent worker, PRN staff member (other than Internal Travel Program) or a hired student
Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement are not eligible for this program unless provided for in their collective bargaining agreement or a side agreement
