Imaging Assistant
Assist with the transport and care of patients receiving medical imaging services while maintaining a clean and well stocked workspace.
Lab Science Assistant
Prepare and stock lab supplies and instruments while properly disposing of biohazardous waste. Operate lab equipment under direct supervision.
Care Partner (Nurse Aide)
Assist with the admission, treatment, and discharge of patients. Provide direct patient care and monitor any change in condition under direct supervision.
Medical Assistant
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and assist with interviews and care under direct supervision. Assist with answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
Medical Office Assistant
Assist with locating and maintaining patient records and provide excellent customer service. Use facility software to manage patient appointments, scheduling and payment collection.
Pharmacy Assistant
Prepare supplies and monitor inventory while supporting pharmacists and techs in locating, packing, and delivering prescription orders. Apply precautions and injection prevention controls.
Phlebotomy Assistant
Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing under direct supervision. Deliver samples to the lab and maintain collection areas plus equipment. Perform record keeping and office duties.
Physical Therapy Aide
Set up and maintain treatment area by cleaning and restocking after each patient visit. Assist with direct patient care exercise program activities under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
Supply Chain Assistant
Assist with inventory management including orders, supply counts, expiration date management. Create product reservations using handheld devices and assist the inspection of goods in Receiving.
Program Objectives
Develop employability and technical skills by applying classroom and on the job learning
Make a difference by contributing to the health and safety of patients through direct care or indirectly through supportive services
Explore a specific career path and determine your future career goals
Earn credit towards high school graduation
Earn an industry-recognized completion certificate
Program Eligibility
High school junior or senior at least 16 years of age by the time you begin working
On track for graduation with strong school attendance
Ability to work at an SSM Health site for 10-15 hours per week throughout an entire school year
Reliable transportation to get to class and work
Completion of all prework with your high school YA Coordinator
Applicants for our CNA pathway must hold a current Nurse Aide certification in WI
Program Length
One-year programs require students to work 450 hours at an SSM Health site
Two-year programs require 900 hours
This averages out to 10-15 hours per week
Summer enrollment is optional
